The Gastown Steam Clock is back!

For some weeks the space was empty... not anymore! The Gastown Steam Clock is back!

This is one of the rare clocks that work powered by steam engine.
You can see the smoke all the time!

Emery Barnes Park

After moving to downtown, I passed my month searching for others apartments. In one of my seven or eight visits I could appreciate Emery Barnes Park, so peaceful.

It was another great moment remembering me how mindful I used to be! =)

Sunday Walking

Another walk near the Fraser River, but this time I went to the other way.

It's 3º outside. I don't feel too cold.
The sun is hided, but you can feel de light.

During this week I will be moving.
So next weekend I won't be here anymore.
I know I will be back, but for now I just take each moment and view with me.

I started to like ducks. I never hated them but I never stopped to admire their lives.
They are really busy: always taking bath, playing, eating and sleeping!

I see them playing with each other and following like the "Simon says" game!
And that water should be cold!

This was another beautiful walking with Mrs. Barbara!

Paradise Food #1

Bacon, Pancakes with Maple Syrup and some Indian Bread!

So tasteful!!

Lights of Christmas

It's Sunday. I thought "it should be a calm and quiet day at home..."
No way! I got this invite to go to the Stanley Park and see the Christmas Lights.
"I don't know where is... or what is... but let's go!"

When we don't have a phone number neither internet, it's a little more complicated to meet our friends. It's all new, even the places. But I don't know how, maybe a christmas light made everything to happen great.

It was free to enter and to see everything! It was full of people and christmas mood!

Even, it was so difficult to catch the magic in the photos, I feel like I am still there.

And it was also difficult for me. I was speechless all the way.
My life has turned around completely.

And here I am. Living. Breathing happiness. Like I could start over. And I [almost] can!

Merry Christmas! =)

Push or Pull?

When you say "push" out loud in Portugal, everybody will think that you are "pulling" the door.
We write "puxe", but we speak like push in english.

So for me it has been a challenge to push when it is to push!

I think in a natural way we never hit if it's push or pull, even if it is written and EVEN if it is in portuguese! =)

Good luck!

First Sushi in Vancouver

Do you know those days when your head hearts and you feel everything is wrong?
Today was the first one since I got here.

Nothing is wrong. It just happens.
So I was about to eat my sandwich at the lunch time but I couldn't see my colleague going eat out alone! =) We decided to relieve of the classes and go to the street.

By chance, we were near a sushi restaurant.
I was surprised, so many people inside. It's just usual, I think.
The food was awesome! The soup is included in the menu and they gave us a free tea.

In the end I paid the same price than in Portugal (I would say in Vancouver was cheaper than some places I knew from my original country...) and I felt really great.

Thank you Sandra!
