Sunday Walking

Another walk near the Fraser River, but this time I went to the other way.

It's 3º outside. I don't feel too cold.
The sun is hided, but you can feel de light.

During this week I will be moving.
So next weekend I won't be here anymore.
I know I will be back, but for now I just take each moment and view with me.

I started to like ducks. I never hated them but I never stopped to admire their lives.
They are really busy: always taking bath, playing, eating and sleeping!

I see them playing with each other and following like the "Simon says" game!
And that water should be cold!

This was another beautiful walking with Mrs. Barbara!

Paradise Food #1

Bacon, Pancakes with Maple Syrup and some Indian Bread!

So tasteful!!

Lights of Christmas

It's Sunday. I thought "it should be a calm and quiet day at home..."
No way! I got this invite to go to the Stanley Park and see the Christmas Lights.
"I don't know where is... or what is... but let's go!"

When we don't have a phone number neither internet, it's a little more complicated to meet our friends. It's all new, even the places. But I don't know how, maybe a christmas light made everything to happen great.

It was free to enter and to see everything! It was full of people and christmas mood!

Even, it was so difficult to catch the magic in the photos, I feel like I am still there.

And it was also difficult for me. I was speechless all the way.
My life has turned around completely.

And here I am. Living. Breathing happiness. Like I could start over. And I [almost] can!

Merry Christmas! =)

Push or Pull?

When you say "push" out loud in Portugal, everybody will think that you are "pulling" the door.
We write "puxe", but we speak like push in english.

So for me it has been a challenge to push when it is to push!

I think in a natural way we never hit if it's push or pull, even if it is written and EVEN if it is in portuguese! =)

Good luck!

First Sushi in Vancouver

Do you know those days when your head hearts and you feel everything is wrong?
Today was the first one since I got here.

Nothing is wrong. It just happens.
So I was about to eat my sandwich at the lunch time but I couldn't see my colleague going eat out alone! =) We decided to relieve of the classes and go to the street.

By chance, we were near a sushi restaurant.
I was surprised, so many people inside. It's just usual, I think.
The food was awesome! The soup is included in the menu and they gave us a free tea.

In the end I paid the same price than in Portugal (I would say in Vancouver was cheaper than some places I knew from my original country...) and I felt really great.

Thank you Sandra!

Music Mall

Well, it is not a music mall but I felt like that:

Choose your floor:

Drums and percussion? Ground Floor!
Pianos? Second Floor!
School? Third Floor!
Easy right?

I went there today and it felt like a music world. I remember to see in Paris a lot of music stores in the same street. And most of them specialized, like just a piano store, then just a drums store...

But here is different. It's organized and is all inside the same building.

Wow!

Lights of Hope at St. Paul's Hospital

I was just passing by and...

...the entry to St. Paul's Hospital was full of lights and stars!

"Back-lit stars are scattered on the display to recognize donations by individuals and companies.
Lights of Hope has raised tens of millions for St. Paul’s Hospital to date, and this year’s campaign has a goal of exceeding last year’s amount by raising $2.5-million."

Walking near the Fraser River

First week is gone! It's sunday, it's morning and it's sunny!

I just went for a walk and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I felt like I could touch the happiness.

"This is not just because it's all new for me...

...this is me...

...and for the first time I feel I belong to somewhere."

I enjoyed every step and every breath.

The houses so different.

My life so different.

And still every detail so important.

I have chosen.  It was the best I did ever.

Everybody can choose. Don't feel afraid for living more ;)

Just go.

And choose too! :)

Happy and relaxed weekend!

View from a 30th floor

I feel blessed.

This Friday I had a special dinner with an amazing couple and my sweet homestay.

I walked all downtown for the first time and tried to figure out how to use the building telecommunicator. Believe me, it's not so easy!

But when all the magic overflows, I forget every single problem or tiredness. Great food, big people and two beautiful cats!

This was my first experience in a high building. I don't remember to see something like this before!

Vancouver... here I go

I got my plane at 6am in Oporto (Portugal), I arrived in Frankfurt, then in London and the last stop, in Vancouver!

It was 18h traveling... or should I say dreaming!

Some wait, some walk, some magic!

Seeing my airplane was like a dream. It was a Boing 777-300, way too big and amazing!

It's difficult to not smile or cry in such a emotional moment. Last months I prepared my life changing and now the moment had come. The clock was delaying 8 hours. I could fly following the sun... Now it was midnight at my country but still 4 p.m. in my new life.
